Description

Listing is for a discontinued/out-of-production, HO scale, prebuilt, 40’ flatcar with airplane load by Athearn. Kit number was 1355. According to the “ Standard Guide to Athearn Model Trains ” lists its availability as "OP3: Out of production; rare – not likely to be found”. The flatcar has a black body with white Nickle Plate Road lettering and road number NKP 1958. Airplane skid is removable (requires disassembly of car to access the tabs). The removable airplane has a silver upper fuselage, black lower fuselage, and silver wings. According to the Athearn guide, it is an early production car because it has a black fuselage bottom with black landing gear doors. The propeller is missing. It does not have registration numbers on the fuselage or wings. The flatcar is in very good shape (no missing stake pockets or broken corner stirrup steps). It comes with Athearn’s old body-mounted horn-hook couplers (kind with the coupler cover held in place with a screw) and Athearn’s old metal spring trucks. The airplane is in good shape but the wings have some small scratches as well as a missing propeller. It comes in an old Athearn box with yellow end panels and sides. Box is in excellent condition with the original price tag on one end.
